I provide therapy for children and families who are experiencing struggles at home, school, or in the community. I work with children with a wide range of diagnoses and concerns to help them feel happier and interact more effectively with those around them. When your child is having a tough time it can spill over into the family functioning and dynamic. My goal is to help families communicate more effectively and help create success and joy for your child. In my experience, when we focus on communication in a positive and meaningful way, we can help change and heal the negative interaction patterns wherever they are occurring. Every child and family system is unique and should be treated as such. I will tailor your therapy experience to your family’s needs. In my extensive work with families and children I have found that using a trauma-informed, flexible and integrative approach to therapy creates the most lasting and beneficial change.

In my sessions, I focus on creating warmth and safety for your child to explore anything that may be contributing to their distress. It is important to build trust with both you and your child as we navigate any concerns. For young children and teens, communicating their feelings and needs can be a difficult and daunting task. By creating a safe space to explore these feelings without judgement I can help your child identify and process anything that may be weighing on them. This compassionate validation creates space to supportively challenge and disrupt negative patterns.

Through my work with children and families in crisis, I have learned how to handle whatever may be happening with calm, understanding, and no judgement. I use a multi-modal approach including CBT, child-led, and systems based theory through art, play and conversation to help support any needs that may arise throughout our time together. My experiences include working with children having difficulty with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, neurodivergence, divorce, LGBTQ+, trauma, and life transitions.

I understand that finding the right therapist for your child can be a challenging task and I know the importance of feeling like your child is in safe and caring hands. I start our therapeutic process with meeting with the parents first and then the family as a whole before starting my individual sessions with your child. Their feelings of safety and support are integral to the therapeutic process.
